A smackdown comparison of four 7″ Android tablets: the Amazon Kindle Fire, Nook Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and the HTC Flyer. Check out our full comparison details at: www.mobiletechreview.com The Fire and Nook are eBook readers with tablet and multimedia features, while the Samsung and HTC are tablets first and foremost. All run Android OS. You’ll notice that as the price goes up you get more features, particularly in those marketed as tablets first: HDMI via adapter, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G options. 1. @PokerPirate doesnt the NOOK offer a 30 dollar yearly membership too?

  2. I have the nook tablet the only problem I have with it is it needs more apps in the android market and as far as camera front and rear I have a htc evo for that so that is one feature I do not need

  3. Hmm…woud the Acer Iconia A100 be a good tablet as we

  4. If you would compare the kindle fire vs the nook tablet, which would you prefer?

  5. @MobileTechReview Actually the HTC flyer has been discontinued and best buy no longer sells it.

  6. The question i’ve always had is why you would by the kindle fire or nook to play games, watch movies, and listen to musics when it was made to read books.

  7. @JohnDiMartino best buy does sell the flyer get on their website and type it in

  8. @cdistasi:

The Nook Tablet is the best value by far. Yes, it costs $50 more…but it’s well worth it.

*IF*…you were an Amazon Prime member (which costs an additional $80 a year) you can get a couple of freebies each month on a Kindle Fire. That being said…I feel the Nook Tablet is still superior (tech specs, versatility, etc).

    Over 2 years of ownership…

Nook Tablet = $249 (the price you pay one time)

Kindle Fire – $360 (the price of the product PLUS $80 x 2 years for Amazon Prime)

  9. @cdistasi They all can do that. While the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet have more ebook integrations, the Samsung and HTC have better access to games.

  10. If im 14 and i love to read, but i also like to play games, which one would be the best for me? Also, can you buy a case for all of them?

  11. @JohnDiMartino amazon is cheaper because they want you to buy their games and movies along with their products

  12. @pjtoxic09 neither. they are useless beyond entertainment purposes

  13. yay nook i gots one

  14. kindle flyer? Hmmm. cool name ;)

  15. Get a nook color, forget about all these tablets.

  16. @MobileTechReview yeh that and taking notes aswell

  17. @Redoople Color touchscreen readers, not including E-Ink. Separate track. ;)

  18. @pjtoxic09 Will you mainly use it for book reading?

  19. which one is better for college use,the fire or the nook????

  20. @JohnDiMartino lol idiot, 3 comments on 2 pages saying the exact same thing.
Although it appears to no longer be available on the BestBuy website (it was 299), I’ve heard rumors that it’s out of stock and maybe even discontinued. But probably just out of stock. Besides, there are always things places like… eBay. It’s hard to not-find it for 300… unless you’re an idiot, that is.

  21. also did anyone else get hungry when she said ice cream cone…mmmmmm

  22. im sooo very jealouse of this woman right now…so many tablet in one plase and all of them hers….ITS NO FAIR…I WANT ONE!!!!!

  23. i have a htc and its so awesomee can u download like facechat like fah example oovoo?

  24. The flyer isn’t on best buys website and its not on the apple or android mobile app…Amazon has the wifi version. The best price on a new one on Amazon was 459.00 for the wifi version….most sellers had them for 500.00 or more …..again I’m not sure where you got your info..but I cannot find one company selling this tablet for 299.00 or even close ….

  25. @JohnDiMartino Best Buy in the US was the exclusive seller of the HTC Flyer WiFi version, and they seem to have run out of stock, probably because of the price cut to $299. They tell us it’s still active in their system, but they don’t know when they will get more. The $500 versions usually come from overseas and have 3G.
