  1. I dont own any of them but I think nook looks better.

  2. @scholarwarrior Yeah, I agree with you on everything except the iPad=bigger iPod Touch. I actually do own both the iPad and Kindle DX and they’re both great.

  3. @g0rsk13g4n9st4 Not scared at all. I was actually comparing them in a way that shows that they are 2 different devices. I was pointing out that there are things that the iPad does not do that the Kindle does and vice versa, therefore they serve a different purpose. I do not own either. I just get tired of the foolish comparisons. That’s why I commented.

  4. @scholarwarrior You yourself mention that the iPad and Kindle are two different category of devices and were marketed for different purposes and yet you’re still comparing them. What’s the matter, afraid that the iPad will cripple kindle ebook market share?
Anyway, the iPad is a portable multitouch computing device – currently the best of its kind; Kindle is a portable e-reader device – currently the best of its kind. Comparing them is like comparing a great musician to a great painter.

  5. I’m getting the new one as an early christmas present right when it comes out, can’t wait at all.

  6. I bought the nook, no regrets.
The NOOK has horrible software problems when it first came out which made it frustrating and laggy but the new patches have smoothed out the very rough edges. Besides battery life, there is really nothing better about the kindle 2.

I’m not a fan of the clumsy 80s style buttons of the kindle either.

The IPAD doesn’t use the reading technology that the kindle uses so it strains your eyes and its much heavier and has a far inferior book selection, not to mention you only have 10 hours of battery life and you have a weeks worth of battery life on a kindle. For readers, the Kindle is hands down superior to the Ipad. Reading on an Ipad is a secondary feature, the kindle specialized in it.

  8. I’m buying one of these, time to get with the times.

  9. I want one…I_I

  10. actually its $189 … check amazon

  11. What’s that….. o.o
Looks like the first GameBoy I’ve ever had.. o.o

  12. @AstronomyGuru1 what do u mean by resistive touch screen? if you mean is it very responsive the answer would be yes, the product itself is just a great! =)

  13. @skai30 Actually, Sony came first. It has the same features, but Sony’s device is sleeker, has a touchscreen, and can read in the ePub/Word/RTF/txt/PDF format.

  14. @AstronomyGuru1 Nope. Capacitive.

  15. @macbooklover181 Is the nook a resistive touch screen?

  16. I’ll be be getting one of these next semester.

  17. @locogirl227 I would get an ipad, but this is far more affordable for me. I already have a great laptop. Your right the ipad is far better, but is to expessive for some. Especially if your a college student like me.

  18. the kindle sucks get the ipad its so much better u can play games check email watch videos and pretty much anything a computer can do and the ipod touch can

  19. i think an ipad would be better. you can read books and playgames, watchmovies, play, games, and more fun stuff

  20. @SuperNintendoCrew21 Yes. I usually only charge my kindle once or twice a month, and I read quite a lot. Part of that is caused by me not leaving my Wireless on unless I am downloading something, though.

  21. @alwaysbeenaninja two days ago i got the nook i love it. I was having the same same problem debating on which one i liked better but since the nook has the touch screen and to me its faster it makes it a lot better. My aunt has the kindle and we tested it the nook changes pages faster and it just is all around a better system.

  22. Strictly speaking this isn’t a review. It’s a sales pitch.

  23. Battery power measured in WEEKS?

  24. @moviebuffreviews – Yup see the video we attached. Amazing value, if you are just looking for a dedicated e reader.

  25. ONLY 189 DOLLARS NOW!
